Course Overview In this course you learn basic SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES 9) fundamentals.
Attendees will be taught the following concepts and skills fundamental to understanding SLES 9:
- Understand the Linux Story
- Use the Linux Desktop
- Locate and Use Help Resources in the Linux System
- Administer Linux with the YaST Management Utility
- Work with the Linux Shell and Command Line
- Manage Directories and Files in the Linux System
- Use Linux Text Editors
- Understand and View Processes in the Linux System
- Manage the Network Configuration
These are essential and prerequisite to learning the skills of an entry level Linux administrator or help desk technician in an enterprise environment. Prerequisites Before attending this course, you should have experience administering any operating system in a computing environment such as an enterprise or academic environment.
Audience While the primary audience for this course is the current Novell CNESM or those with similar experience, certification candidates with experience in other operating systems can also use this course to begin preparing for the Novell Certified Linux Professional (Novell CLP) Practicum Exam. Additionally, anyone who is seeking a fundamental understanding of the Linux operating system would benefit from this course.
